Gemma - Senior Occupational Therapist
For over 12 years, Gemma has worked in the public sector in Geelong and West Melbourne. She has extensive experience with individuals with neurological conditions including progressive conditions, physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities and cognitive impairments. She has gained widespread experience across the continuum of care including acute, inpatient and community rehabilitation.
Gemma thrives on building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients, working enthusiastically and curiously to achieve their goals.She values teamwork and leverages her extensive network of providers and services to meet each client’s needs effectively and efficiently. Utilizing strengths-based practices and innovative ideas for assistive technology and home modifications, Gemma focuses on what matters most to her clients. She has strong skills in neurological rehabiliation, capacity building and devleoping plans for complex clients.
Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending time with her young family and groodle. She also loves Pilates, yoga, sharing meals with family and friends, planning travel adventures, completing home projects, and tending to her garden and veggie patch.
Lauren - Senior Occupational Therapist
Lauren has been a dedicated Occupational Therapist for 12 years in Geelong and Ballarat, since graduating from Deakin University in 2011. While working in Geelong, she gained extensive experience within the public health system in acute hospital settings (including hand therapy), inpatient rehabilitation, and community rehabilitation. Her expertise spans acute medical conditions, degenerative and acute hand injuries, orthopedic conditions, amputees, geriatric and neurological care.
Since 2018, Lauren has been providing support within the NDIS space, catering to clients in Ballarat and Golden Plains Shire. She has experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and progressive conditions. Lauren enjoys navigating the world of assistive technology, capacity building and minor home modifications. Lauren is passionate about her work as an OT and takes pride in working closely with clients and their support networks to help them achieve their goals. Her approach is characterized by a friendly and engaging manner, ensuring that clients feel understood and prioritized.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys spending time with her young family, participating in local community sports, and planning the next family holiday.
Lauren is currently completing her Cert III in Horticultural Therapy, with hopes of incorporating this interest into her therapeutic practices.
